How I Met Your Mother - This show rewards you for watching by have running jokes that span multiple seasons. I recommend starting with Season One.


Damages - I discovered this during the holidays and I am totally hooked. Glen Close plays the head of a law firm, who may or may not be responsible for murder.


Portlandia - Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen created this lovely sketch show poking fun at our quirky city. I love all the hipster jokes, but sometimes you meet people in this town that make you wonder if this is a satire or a documentary.
